Description
'Swallowtail Appetizer' shows a precious swallowtail butterfly gathering nectar from a fuchsia coloured petunia. These butterflies frequent summer gardens and display such wonderful colours as yellow and shimmering blue.
"Swallowtails are large, colorful butterflies in the family Papilionidae, and include over 550 species.Though the majority are tropical, members of the family inhabit every continent except Antarctica. The family includes the largest butterflies in the world, the birdwing butterflies of the genus Ornithoptera...As swallowtail butterflies are large, colourful, and attractive, they were once targeted by butterfly collectors. The largest of these, the birdwing butterflies are particularly sought after and are cultured in butterfly farms for the purpose of collectors." - wikipedia
