Description
Found in the summer garden, pie plate hibiscus flowers are also known as rose mallows, and swamp mallows. They are a very hardy plant and return every summer in late August where I live. These flowers are indigenous to North America and need full sun and average to wet soil. They are nicknamed 'pie plates' due to their enormous size - up to 10 inches in diameter. An excellent specimen for macro photography!
