Artist's Description
The Gladstone Hotel is the oldest, still operating hotel in the city of Toronto. It was built in 1889. It originally served the Grand Trunk, The Canadian National, and the Canadian Pacific Railway passengers coming through Toronto. It was also a common spot for tourists to stay if they were coming to visit the C.N.E. The Canadian National Exhibition. The Gladstone Hotel was one of the first ten hotels in Ontario, Canada to allow patrons to drink and play shuffleboard in a licensed alcoholic area. The hotel was designed by architect, George Miller. It is a good example of the 'Richardsonian Romanesque' style architecture common for many railway stations and libraries of the era. Today, it is a great place to go for a lunch, brunch or dinner, or to rent a room for a press or media event.
About Nina Silver
SILVERVISION FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY, PAINTING, AND PHOTOART ---- Some artists have carved for themselves a distinct place in the art world. They create work of a certain genre or stick to one style for which they are internationally known. I am not satisfied as an artist unless I am trying new techniques and creating a variety of works. Welcome to my world as I see it from behind the lens of a camera, the end of a paintbrush, or some creative manipulation of images on the computer. As an artist and an educator, I have an interest in sharing my passions. I hope that my images can make others happy, or make them see something a little differently. I'd like my artwork to find a place in your heart and home and for you to get as much...
