Description
Hummingbirds are special creatures. They are attracted to the nectar of various blossoms and are so tiny that we often miss them as they flutter from flower to flower. When you catch site of one, you can't help but marvel at their ability to stay hovering in one place as they sup on the sweetness of nature. Most hummingbird species measure 7.5–13 cm in length. The smallest of these birds is the Bee Hummingbird, which weighs less than 2.0 g (0.07 oz).
In many aboriginal communities, the hummingbird symbolizes peace, love and happiness.
They certainly make me smile when I see one.
This artwork was actually begun with a cololured pencil drawing and then manipulated using various digital software applications. It is not really an ink wash, but it sure does look like one.
