Artist's Description

Construction on Toronto's Old City Hall was begun in 1889. It became home to its city council from 1899 to 1966 and remains one of the city's most prominent structures.
Designed by prominent Toronto architect Edward James Lennox, the building took more than a decade to build and cost more than $2.5 million.
Four gargoyles were placed on the corners of the Clock Tower in 1899, but they were removed due to the effects of the weather on the sandstone carvings in 1938.
In 2002, bronze casts of the gargoyles were reinstalled.

About Nina Silver

Nina Silver

SILVERVISION FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY, PAINTING, AND PHOTOART ---- Some artists have carved for themselves a distinct place in the art world. They create work of a certain genre or stick to one style for which they are internationally known. I am not satisfied as an artist unless I am trying new techniques and creating a variety of works. Welcome to my world as I see it from behind the lens of a camera, the end of a paintbrush, or some creative manipulation of images on the computer. As an artist and an educator, I have an interest in sharing my passions. I hope that my images can make others happy, or make them see something a little differently. I'd like my artwork to find a place in your heart and home and for you to get as much...
