Description
According to 'Wikipedia', Freesia is a genus of herbaceous perennial flowering plants in the family Iridaceae, first described as a genus in 1866 by Chr. Fr. Echlon and named after German botanist and doctor Friedrich Freese. These gorgeous flowers were hanging in streams with crystals at a local flower show.
The images in my vintage postcard collection look great on throw pillows. They are also a favourite of antique collectors, flower lovers, stationery and vintage paper collectors. Be sure to check out my Vintage Postcard Gallery to see them all.
Be sure to notice the stamp here from the early days of car travel reminding motorists to "try courtesy". I think it's time for these reminders again.
