Description
Summer 2015, Toronto, Canada hosts the Pan Am and Para-Pan Am Games. Leave with a memorable image of the city that has acres of beautiful parkland, many wonderful restaurants, museums, and a welcoming diverse population of over 2.5 million people. Toronto sits on the North-Western shores of Lake Ontario, and its most famous landmark would have to be the CN Tower, standing 553.33 m. (1,815.4 ft) tall.
You can take a ferry to one of three Toronto Islands, watch the Blue Jays play baseball in the Roger's Centre (white dome), or take a flight into or out of Billy Bishop Airport, off the 'western gap' of the lake.
A new landmark sign was mounted in Nathan Phillips Square to honour the arrival of the games. This image was created from a photo taken one night during the festivities, in the rain.
The massive sign is 3 m tall and 22 m long, with each letter weighing about 136 kg and equipped with LED lights controlled via Wi-Fi.
Toronto: Home of the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Rock and the Toronto Argonauts.
