Description
This may be one of Toronto's most famous hard loft buildings. The Candy Factory lofts are situated in the trendy design district surrounded by designer stores and fashionable restaurants. The original building used to be home to the Ce De Candy Company. Edward (Eddie) Dee created Ce De Candy, Ltd. in Canada, opening a factory on Queen Street in Toronto in 1963. Later, he moved the operation to a new Canadian facility built in Newmarket, Ontario in 1988 to continue making more candies like pop rocks and smarties.
Within the building there are ultra wide hallways, exposed posts and 12ft wood ceilings. The project was completed in 1999/2000 by Metro Ontario Group. There are 121 lofts in the building. A must see for any loft enthusiast and one of Toronto's more trendy lofts. Lofts created from many of Toronto's old factory buildings are becoming more popular in Toronto's growing Condominium Market.
